01 – POSITIONING

Most VA courses teach you
to be
replaceable.

Calendar management. Inbox cleanup. Social media scheduling. Every VA in the Philippines is trained on the same generic stack and then priced against every other VA who learned exactly the same thing.

Tax is different.

US tax firms need help year-round. They need people who understand deadlines, forms, and confidentiality. And they cannot hand that work to someone who has never seen a 1040.

That’s why tax VAs get retained, not rotated. This course teaches the specialization. Not the commodity.

02 — Who this is for

Built for the Filipino
who’s ready for the next thing.

BPO agents tired of night shifts, tired of the ceiling, ready to work directly with international clients.

General VAs who want to stop competing on price and start competing on skill.

Career shifters with no tax background at all. Module 4 assumes you know nothing. That’s on purpose.

This is not for someone looking for a shortcut. It’s for someone willing to learn a real skill that a US firm will pay real money for.

03 — The Shift

What actually changes

Real situations. Real work. Real clients.

BEFORE AFTER
Working night shifts with no clear ceiling and no career path. Working with US tax firms on a schedule built around US business hours and paid in dollars.
Sending out generic VA applications that look like everyone else’s. Applying as a specialist who can name the forms, the deadlines, and the workflows a tax firm runs on.
Freezing when a client mentions a 1040, a Schedule C, or an 8879. Knowing exactly what those are, where they sit in the workflow, and what your job is when they land in your inbox.
Wondering whether you’re even allowed to get paid by a US company. Understanding the W-8BEN, the form that lets a US client legally pay you.
Learning tools from YouTube tutorials made for nobody in particular. Learning the actual SOPs a working US tax firm uses with its own team.
03 — Curriculum

Six modules. 35 lessons.
Everything a US tax firm needs you to know.

You won’t prepare tax returns, that isn’t your job. You’ll understand every one that crosses your desk, and support the professional who signs it.

Working knowledge of the US tax system.

The forms, the deadlines, and the logic underneath them, knowledge that follows you into any finance or tax role.

Learn the actual systems of a real US tax firm.

Prisma’s own SOPs, not a generic tutorial written for nobody in particular.

Module 01

BPO to VA Mindset Shift

6 lessons

No tax forms yet. This one is about you. Why your BPO skills already transfer, what a US client expects that a team lead never did, how a US tax firm is actually structured and the two things nobody says out loud: the guilt of leaving a job your family recognizes, and the fear of charging US rates before your first invoice.

Module 02

Working Inside a US Tax Firm

5 lessons

Time zones, file naming, inbox discipline, Microsoft Teams professionalism, and why confidentiality here is nothing like BPO. The unglamorous habits that decide whether a firm keeps you.

Module 03

Project Management Tools

5 lessons

How work actually gets tracked, assigned, and measured inside a firm. Learn the system underneath and you can walk into any firm, ClickUp, Asana, Monday, Notion, or a shared spreadsheet, and know where the work lives, who owns it, and what “done” means.

Module 04

US Tax Fundamentals

8 lessons

What a 1040 actually is. Why March 15 and April 15 hit differently. How a $500 receipt becomes a deduction. Entity types, the common forms, and the W-8BEN that lets your US client legally pay you.

Module 05

Bookkeeping and Documents

5 lessons

Not a generic software tutorial. You’ll learn to sort, reconcile, and flag the way a real US tax firm expects you to - using Prisma Tax Group’s own SOPs.

Module 06

A Day in the Life Inside Prisma Tax Group

6 lessons

Start of shift to end of day. Slow season to tax season. First client to filed return. What the job actually looks like - including how to write an end-of-day report a US tax preparer can read in ten seconds.

Slides teach the concept. Katherine walks you through the real thing.

05 — the credential

Finish the course.
Earn the
title.

Complete all six modules and you graduate as a USA Tax Administrative Support Professional - certified by PH VA Tax Collective, signed by Katherine Studley, President of Prisma Tax Group

That isn’t a phrase we invented for a landing page. It’s a job title. It’s what a US firm calls the person who keeps the practice running - the one who manages the client pipeline, the documents, the deadlines, and the workflows so the preparer can prepare.

Every certificate carries a unique ID and a QR code, so a hiring firm can verify it in seconds. Put it on your resume. Pin it to your LinkedIn. Attach it to your next application.

Let’s be clear about what this is and what it isn’t.

This is a certificate of completion. It is not an academic degree, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Proof you completed structured training built by a working US tax firm.
Evidence to a hiring firm that you understand tax office operations and workflow management.
Verifiable unique certificate ID and QR code, issued in the firm’s name.
Not a college degree, diploma, or CHED/TESDA-accredited qualification.
Does not make you a CPA, an Enrolled Agent, or a licensed tax preparer.
Non-technical regarding tax filing. It does not train you to prepare tax returns, file them, or represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Not a guarantee of employment or placement with any firm.
06 — Your Instructor

You’re not learning from a course creator. You’re learning from your future client.

Katherine Studley is the President of Prisma Tax Group, a working US tax firm. She isn’t teaching theory she read somewhere, she’s teaching the exact systems her own team runs on, the standards she holds her own VAs to, and the workflows she’d want a new hire to already know on day one.

Her work has been featured in NEW YORK TIMES, BUSINESS INSIDER, BLOOMBERGand WALL STREET JOURNAL.

Most VA courses are built by marketers who have never hired a VA. This one is built by someone who hires them.

07 — Proof

No fake praise. We'll wait for the real stuff.

This is a new program. We could have filled this page with stock photos and invented success stories. Most courses do.

Instead: you’d be joining the founding cohort. Direct access to Katherine. First crack at every module. A seat in a community being built around you rather than sold to you.

The testimonials will come from you.

08 — FAQ's

Before you ask.

Same skills as every other VA or the one they don’t have.

US tax firms are hiring Filipino VAs right now. The ones getting hired aren’t the cheapest. They’re the ones who already understand the work.
